What is the floppy for?

In computing, a floppy disk is a digital information storage medium. That is the utility of a floppy for computers.
Currently they have fallen into disuse, but in the 80s and 90s they were widely used means of storing computer files. The floppy was inserted into the floppy drive and, if it was available for writing, files could be copied there.
Floppy disks were replaced by optical discs (CDs, DVDs, etc.), hard drives and flash memories such as pen drives or USB sticks.
