The architect Eva Helft has created an intimate and bright space in what was once a dark apartment using the sensuality and soft tones of natural materials in a contemporary environment. As a boat cabin in which every centimeter counts, this study redesigned by the Fleur Delesalle agency is the very illustration of the definitive optimization of space. «In addition to a child, it was a long and narrow rectangle,» he explains. From then on, in addition to making the most of every square centimeter, they tried to counteract the hall effect playing with two principles: A mirror that covers a whole wall to double the space and make it more bright when reflecting the only window; and hide all the functions in a single closet that integrates all the elements along the opposite wall. They also decided to choose everything white to expand the space. «This surprises me a lot because I like to work with the color, but here the only touch of color is given by the sofa,» confesses Fleur Dellelle.

The architect Marie Deroudilhe used a combination of clear and white oak to remodel a department of the seventies and bring it to the 2020s. «It was special because the owner is a friend of mine and dedicates himself to architecture, but does not specialize at all in interior design or small spaces, so he commissioned the project,» he says.
