Who is a sorcerer and what do you practice

A sorcerer is a magic or sorcery practitioner. This title is usually given or adopted by those who practice high magic or ceremonial magic.

It can be used by a witch man with preference on the term witch or sorcerer or can be used as a general term for any user of magic that does not self -identify as a sorcerer, although some reserve this term for those who practice dark arts.

A woman can choose to identify with the female variant sorcerer.

Origins of this term

The word sorcerer comes from Latin SORS which means «luck» or «destiny, fortune», possibly referring to the response given by an oracle.

The literal translation of the word sorcerer is something like «someone who influences the destiny» or perhaps «fortune teller».

The word sorcerer can be used as a synonym for magician, sorcerer or magician.
