The Sabbats are the Festivities of the Witches. The word is used to designate parties and special holidays that celebrate many pagans and, especially, the traditional wicans and witches.
According to tradition, there are usually 4 or 8 sabbats in the year following the pattern of the wheel of the year.
Sabbats list
Some groups celebrate the four Celtic Fire Festivals as Sabbats. These are: Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnssadh and Samhain.
Others celebrate the equinoxes and solstices such as Sabbats too. These are: Ostara, Litha, Mabon and Yule
At present, most groups celebrate the eight festivals in one way or another.
These Sabbats can receive various names.
