Sorcerers, witches, sorcerers and nigromantes. In the Bible these mysterious figures appear that lead us to think that there were already such realities. How they brought, not the beauty of the magic that we all love, but of dangerous people for the spiritual health of those who knew them. Let’s find out, then, what the Bible says about witches and sorcerers.

I managed to find four verses of the Bible that talk about witchcraft explicitly and strong tones.

So what does the Bible say about witches and sorcerers?

It cannot be said that magical activities are direct and specific diabolical actions and magicians usually, they themselves do not admit being related to the devil. Both in the past and today, some witches work closely collaboration with the devil, but these are isolated cases. What the Bible says with certainty is that the various forms of magic facilitate diabolical actions both in terms of sin and harassment.

The spells alter the filial relationship between man and God, leave aside prayer and sacraments, link the will to superstitious practices, encourage hate and revenge. Often, the advice of witches also incite or approve sexual behaviors contrary to the law of God.

The supposed release of invoices or breakdowns is only an illusion, as well as the production and launch of invoices against those who want to harm.

For all of the above, the Bible says that the Word of God cannot be judged against the various forms of magic of excessive severity. The Word of God is fair and source of salvation.

Impact on witches and sorcerers over the centuries

The belief in the existence of magic, is understood as a particular force that, through specific magical rituals, made by certain particular individuals, (that is, witches, sorcerers, shamans, fortune tellers, etc.), of both sexes, or due to supernatural beings, it is presumed that it can exercise a particular domain over the forces of nature and also on a human being, pouring them into the will of those who perform these practices As in the existence of witchcraft, closely associated with Magick, understood as the exercise of these Magickales practices by these special individuals to which it is presumed that they can influence both positively (white magic) and negatively (black magic) nature and human beings, is present in most ancient and modern cultures.

Christianity began to take the relay of Greco-Roman religion and culture, inevitably had to face and collide with this magical-passional reality, which would continue for many centuries, especially in rural areas.

What if you are Catholic but you intrigue you?

I really believe that we must all choose what kind of spirituality it suits us. If we are diving in magic and its crafts it is because perhaps our traditional beliefs are not resonating with us as they should, then I do not see anything bad in practicing magic, also because, as we have often discussed, magic is not an evil practice, as long as it is practiced with good intentions and an open heart.

You know yourself and, if you feel you need some magic, do it. Religions were created to calm our pains and heal our souls but, if they can’t do that, there is nothing wrong with trusting something different, but that is my opinion.
