The baby kangaroo’s journey begins in an unusual way: as a tiny, underdeveloped creature, barely larger than a bee. Blind and deaf, with no fur or limbs, it prepares for its first great journey – the trek into its mother’s pouch.

According to Discover Wildlife, kangaroo babies are severely underdeveloped at birth, a feature that sets them apart from many other mammals. With small claws on their front paws, they instinctively follow the path to their mother’s pouch, where their further growth and development takes place.
The life of the little kangaroo joey begins in complete darkness in the protective pouch, suckled and fed by the mother for the first two months. It stays in this shelter for six to eleven months, continues to develop and mature.
