The three types of male power – · ®

A text by Josephs Serra

«Men have three types of power. We first know it well – it is the typical, traditional male power – is macho, is abusive, and is controlling the entire world.

The second is more subtle. It is a very modern power, based on the repression of macho power – it is a manipulative power, a hidden power – is the power of the «new man» – of the wolf disguised as a lamb. The third type of power of man is seen in the eyes of babies, it is seen in the little boys-it is our original power, the power that follows there in the center of our beings, buried under a mountain of macho and anti-milkist conditioning.

What is this original man of man? It is an unbreakable power – because it is not defending anything. The macho power, on the other hand (which is within all of us – even that we neglect it), is defending a fear of feeling – because as children put us the «chip» to feel is weak, feminine (not masculine). So the macho power is very fragile, because it is defending a lie (the lie that as men do not feel, or that we only feel anger and desire for sex).

To be truly powerful, so as not to be defending our fear, we have to have agreed with our non-directed nature, and our confidence in life and death. This gives us the ability to be unbreakable, open from heart, powerful, and present at the time. This is the third type of male power – the original male power. And this is a path that requires each man a great commitment to himself.

It requires that we dedicate ourselves to love towards ourselves – to everything we have inside, everything we have inherited: wounds, distortions, and our forgotten male beauty. It requires a very clear understanding of the real power of man, how it is evolving in our culture today, of the personal challenge that pertifies each man. And it requires above all, as is a long path, that we remain together, learning to depend on our brothers. »

Mark Josephs is a reference in the exploration of the relationship between masculinity and femininity, a task to which he dedicated himself for more than two decades within the framework of the «Social Alchemy» movement, a project that co-founded with his former company Elisabeth Serra. His own personal evolution took him to uncheck the vision he shared once, but Mark’s legacy remains a source of inspiration and reflection for many people who want to deepen the elements that have characterized the conflict between the masculine and the feminine and believe in the need to transform and heal their relationships.
