Everyone knows that plants don’t get pregnant – this is not how plant reproduction works. However, these flowers will make you want to take a closer look. to make sure it’s not a baby taken from the womb and put on earth.
Orchids are beautiful and draw attention by themselves, but this one manages to be even more striking. Belonging to the genus Anguloa, this flower has only nine species and can be found in South America, in countries like Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela.
These plants, which are popularly known as “baby orchid in crib“, need to be in a well-lit place in all seasons of the year, but, as they are native to mountains (places with high altitude), the ideal is for them to be in lower temperatures and with enough ventilation. They can be planted in terracotta and plastic pots, and need to be watered frequently.
A Anguloa Uniflora is the best known and can exceed 20 cm in length. Their appearance gives the impression of carrying a human baby. If you have a peculiar taste and love plants, this might be a good option for your garden.
