«Hestia was the goddess of the home and the temples. It is the least known of the goddesses of Olympus. His Roman equivalent was Vesta. NOr it was represented in human form, but as a flame burning in the center of the house, the temple or the city. Hestia’s symbol was the circle. A sacred fire in the center of the home that felt spiritually, which provided heat and lighting.
Hestia was the greatest of the three virgin goddesses. But unlike Artemis or Athena, she didn’t go into the world. Remained inside the house or temple.
The ‘virgins’ goddesses have the quality of being complete in themselves, and they all had the ability to focus on what cared and concentrate on it. Hestia concentrated inside, on his internal subjective experience.
The way of perceiving Hestia is looking inside, and feeling intuitively what happens. Putting us in contact with our values, and in what has meaning from the personal point of view. This also leads to the internal understanding of the character of other people and to see the meaning of their actions.
Hestia can also emotionally detach himself from others, such as Artemis and Athena, seeks serene tranquility that finds more easily in solitude.
It is the active archetype in women who consider that carrying the house is an activity full of meaning. A woman who has a sense of internal harmony when she performs everyday tasks, is in contact with this archetype. Attending the daily home is an activity that focuses, equivalent to meditation. When lava or folding to clothes, or puts things in order, it feels that it is absorbed without a hurry and full of peace in each task.
When this archetype is present in a woman, events do not have the same impact on it as on other people. This woman is not «attached» to people, results, possessions, or prestige or power. As its identity is not important, it is not tied to external circumstances.
The detachment gives him a quality of «wise old.» It is like a larger relative who has seen everything and has crossed it without decreasing his mood and with his tempered character by experience. »
