The Arch of Paris's triumph is not the only arch in the world

One of the world's most famous monuments, the Arch of Paris Triumphit has been the most visited structure of the city since it was erected in 1836. In fact, during the second half of the 2010, more than 1.5 million people have visited the arc of 50 meters high annually. He was in charge in 1806 to honor the French who fought – and, therefore, died – for their country during the revolutionary and Napoleonic wars, and was erected in the midst of 12 avenues that point to the arch, so that they form a star. Although Paris houses the only arch of triumphthere are a handful of cities around the world with their own similar arches that constitute a bold architectural statement.

From Brooklyn to Mexico City, it is worth visiting these six centenary arches.
