Swissydogs (mountain dogs) are not mixed breeds, but hybrids. According to the reciprocity rule, they are uniform in their appearance.

In genetics, this refers to the better performance of hybrids of the F1 generation. (F = branch = son/daughter)

With the Swissydog, health is better and performance is higher than with the P generation (P = parental = parents).

The Life expectancy of a Swissydog mountain dog is 6 to 9 years. In comparison, a Bernese Mountain Dog only lives to be around 6.5 years.

Clarifying illnesses

The 4 Swiss Mountain Dogs from which the Swissydog emerged have a not inconsiderable number of diseaseswhich they pass on.

Care

The Swissydog mountain dog is easy to care for. The short coat should be brushed regularly – sometimes more often when changing coats.

The floppy ears can cleaning with an appropriate means if they are a little too dirty.

Floppy ears need to be checked regularly as the dog often has trouble keeping them clean himself. Get your young dog used to cleaning their ears right away.

But always be careful not to cause unnecessary irritation or even inflammation of the ears.
