Narrow house: a spectacular home full of light and freshness

This narrow house With architectural choreography and waterfalls is a dream. Small front gardens, individual architecture and centenary trees: in the charming neighborhood Leslieville de Toronto, the Victorian house Caroline, 1850, is located in a relaxed residential area and a quiet environment. At first glance, it is evident that, with a width of only about four meters and a height of almost twelve, the Caroline family house has an unusual distribution.

The narrow house houses challenges that motivate

For Reign Architects, from Toronto, there was much to do under the direction of Jacob Jebailey. Being a narrow house with a gross surface of 200 square meters, it seemed bleak, with only small windows of windows in the rear, and the distribution of the rooms was everything but right. In retrospect, Jebailey sees these challenges as something positive: «It allowed us, as designers, to be creative to maximize the functionality of space and access to natural light,» says the architect.

The artist Erin Armstrong, from Toronto, created the work of art on the dining room, the pendant lamp is from Panter & Tourron for New Works Denmark, the white oak table is the work of designer Mary Ratcliffe and the white oak chairs are ethnicraft.
