What are microgreens
Have you ever thought if you could have a garden on a micro scale, which produced little things for consumption on top of that? Microgreens are a trend that will win your heart. Microgreens, or microgreens (in English), are the young plants, a little more grown than sprouts, but not yet fully adult. Common vegetables such as radishes, alfalfa and spinach can be grown as microgreens.
Because they are still young plants, they contain a lot of nutrients and a lot of flavor! Chefs around the world use them in entrees and salads. And the best part is you get to plant them in small spaces.
how to cultivate
Growing microgreens is very similar to having a traditional herb garden. All you need are seeds, substrate and a bright spot. Microgreen seeds are the same seeds as regular vegetables. No specialized equipment is needed, just a clean box or other container deep enough to hold the substrate.

Step by step
The first step is to place a little substrate (about two fingers’ height), drained, in your chosen pot. Spread the seeds out evenly and cover them with another thin layer of slightly damp soil. The second step is to cover your container, this helps retain moisture. When the seeds begin to germinate, remove the cover and water them constantly: ideally, you should spray your microgarden twice a day.
a parapet of window, porch, or any corner that is well lit will be perfect for your microgreens. If your home doesn’t have such a place, don’t worry, you can achieve the same effect with a specific light for plants.
Between 1 and 3 weeks, you will already be able to consume some. The vegetables will be ready for consumption when they reach about 5 cm in height. Be careful not to harvest your microgreens too soon: the first little leaves that appear are still from the seeds.
A tip to always have microgreens on your table is to plant new seeds as you harvest.
