Actually, much of the exteriors of the Gothic style school belong to the Castillo de Cantacuzino, located in the Romanian mountainous town of Bușteni. This Neoruman Palace of the Carpats was the summer residence of Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzinoaristocrat and politician, who died there only two years after he finished building in 1911.
As the shooting set of the Netflix Merlina series, the castle design was complemented with special effects inspired by the «eclectic heap of architecture» of Bucharest, as described by the series production designer, Mark Scruton. Some of the interiors of Nevermorelike the dispatch of director Larissa Weems (Gwendoline Christie), rolled in the historic Monteoru house in Bucharest.

Style architecture Brâncovenesc
The carved stone castle, with four pavilions and balconies – including a central one outside the dance hall – is influenced by Romanian style architecture Brâncovenesca style of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century that mixes Byzantine, Ottoman and late rebirth details.
