How to plant peanuts?
All you have to do is get raw, organic peanuts from any garden center or online store and plant them in the ground. It’s that easy! (Don’t try it with boiled or roasted peanuts, as they won’t germinate.)
Tip: to increase the chances of germination, always plant 8-10 peanuts.
How to grow peanuts in containers?
As peanuts grow on roots, it is important that you get a deep vase, at least 35-45 cm deep. Fill it with well-draining growing medium and plant 4-6 peanuts.
For proper germination, the temperature should be above 21°C. After a week or two, the seeds will germinate.
Requirements for growing peanuts in containers
Sunshine/Location
Peanut is a tropical plant, loves to grow in conditions slightly damp and warm. When growing peanuts in pots, place them in the sunniest but least windy spot. Choose a location that receives at least 5-6 hours of direct sun.
Ground
For growing peanuts in containers, make sure the growing medium is rich in humus. Amend the soil with plenty of organic matter and compost at the time of planting.
The plant grows best in the pH range of 6.0-6.5.

When growing peanuts in pots, keep the soil slightly moist. During the initial period of growth and flowering, increase watering. Do not let the soil dry out completely.

Initially, the plant will not need any kind of fertilization, but when you see the first flowers, feed it with a balanced liquid fertilizerdiluted to half its strength, once every 2-4 weeks.
Avoid using a fertilizer with a high nitrogen content.

The most common diseases, besides molds and fungi, are leaf spots. About pests, is attacked by aphids, potato leafhoppers and spider mites. Use a neem oil solution or an insecticidal soap to get rid of them.

Remove the entire plant and let it dry in the sun. When dry, simply shake off excess soil and remove the peanuts.
It is always best to harvest the plant in dry, hot weather.
