What is a Peace Lily

Native to tropical climates, peace lilies grow on the forest floor and are used to a lot of shade. But they bloom better when exposed to direct morning light a few hours a day. At home, they can reach 40 cm in height.

Despite the name, peace lilies are not true lilies, they are from the Araceae family, but they have this name because their flowers resemble lily flowers, such as the calla lily (or lily of the Nile) .

Like Anthurium, which is in the same family, the white part of the peace lily is not its flower. This part is its inflorescence, the bract, the leaf from which the flower is born, which is this stem that grows in the middle, called the spadix.
