Hekate, or Hécate, is the Greek goddess of the moon, witchcraft, crossroads, natural poison, herbalism and the spirits of the dead.
Its gloomy legend borders the limits of Hellenic mythology. It appears mysteriously in homeric legends and fades into the forgetfulness of the Greek pantheon equally cryptic.
With the popularization of neopaganism, modern witchcraft practitioners have been especially interested in it. In particular, her role as the goddess of the witches makes her relevant to her practice.
Whether you recognize it as a literal deity, and if you simply want to work with the archetypal energy it represents, try one of these ideas to bring it to your sacred space.

Includes torches in your ritual.
No flashlights. Flashlights
In much of the art that represents this goddess, it carries a fire torch. This visually shocking complement to a group ritual is a great way to welcome its energy.
Even if only for that, the environment intensifies spectacularly.
(Look for videos of «how to make a flashlight» to find a tutorial on how to do them yourself).
Seal the Aquelarre ties.
As goddess of the witches, invokes Hekate during the rituals to seal the brotherhood ties in the Aquelarres.
Or dedicate the altar of your coven.
Plant a little shore.
If you live in a region where it grows well, the perennial leaf bush known as Tejo is sacred for Hekate. Like it in the limits of your property to attract your favor and protect the home. (Be careful: it is also very toxic).
Invocate it for the rites of the triple goddess.
If you celebrate passing rites in your tradition (such as the transition from maiden to mother), consider the possibility of resorting to Hekate to supervise the ceremonies that honor these milestones.
Some of Hécate’s most mysterious old statues represent it with three heads. Modern witches recognize them as three aspects of the triple goddess (maid, mother and chrone).
It takes Hekate to the crossroads.
The place where two paths become one represents the fusion of two energies in a single force.
Burn a black candle at the crossroads. Then invoke Hekate to help you choose between two roads or leave a message for a loved one who has crossed. Speaking of that:
Include it in spiritual communication.
Ask Hécate to transmit a message to a loved one who died or ancestor. Write your message in a piece of scroll paper, bend a bit of dry belladonna inside and quote it in a cauldron or in the fire of the home. Ask him to take your message to someone on the other side of the veil.
Invite it to an exorcism.
If you participate in paranormal investigations, your clients are very likely to ask you to scare or expel the negative energy quite regularly.
After carrying out an exorcism or energy as a root root of mandragora on the entrances and ask Hécate to protect them to avoid the return of negative entities. (And be sure to warn the living occupants that it is toxic).
Make an offering of garlic.
This goddess especially likes garlic. Leave it at the home altar as an offering for her or use garlic in the kitchen witch spells to ask for help.
(To know other ways to use garlic in magic, see 10 ways to use garlic in witchcraft).
Include it in your relationship with family members.
If you have a relative (a real and alive animal with whom you maintain a deep relationship), invoke Hécate to protect your animals and keep peace among the «brothers» fingy animals.
Ask for help in your herbalism studies.
Start of a herbalist practice? Hekate is your lady. It specializes in the use of herbs in magic, witchcraft and metaphysical arts. Go to it when you work intuitively with herbs or when you want to concentrate your energy to deepen the knowledge of herbalism and its metaphysical uses.

I have a black kitten called Hécate, we call it Hex to abbreviate. It is the third black cat with which I share my life. I have reached the «Cronedom» and I think it is a wonderful stage. Hécate is a special name for many reasons. Blessed are you

Over the years, Hekete has been calling me. I have finally answered and she has spoken to me. We are going to be friends. It has suggested that you read more about it and this post has been a great help. Thank you so much.

When I was very stressed, he was shown for me and we have been very good friends since then. Now 7 years ago and I also write a book with your art and inspiration for the head-person and the book. I am Danesa – I live in Denmark – but an American friend is translating the book to English – she has not finished but I think she will sell it digitally. Hécate is my most important goddess. I am a priest in a Wiccang group in Denmark and she is always with me in our ceremonies. The other 2 goddesses that most use is Ishtar (she also connected to me) and Freja del Norte. Thanks for the information.
