They are very fierce flying beings, half lion and half eagle.

The upper part is that of a giant eagle with golden feathers, a sharp beak, and powerful talons. The lower part is that of a lion with yellow fur, muscular legs and tail. Its size is quite large, they usually measure about 3 meters.

Their favorite food is horse meat, so they are often seen attacking horses and lifting them into the air with their powerful claws. Griffons hunt for food and do so in small groups of no more than 12 griffins. They can fight in the air or by diving with the weight of their body.

These beings have characteristics of the two animals from which they are formed. On the part of the eagles they have a highly developed sight and smell. Their lion part leads them to live in packs, within which there is always a leader.

They usually live in rocky mountains, building their huge nests on the slopes. These nests are made of large branches and leaves that they can bring from forests located several kilometers away from the nest.

They can be trained as mounts, but it is a task that requires some time. Once trained, griffons are loyal and will defend their rider to the death. They are very brave and will fight any creature they deem a threat without a second thought. The rider and griffin are united for life. It is very common for them to be ridden by wild elves, with whom they maintain a very close relationship.
