Francisco Toledo was an artist, activist and defender of the most forgotten causes. There is no doubt that his legacy goes beyond art and his iconic papalotes, which are almost synonymous with the artist himself, even after his sudden death on September 5, 2019 at 79 years of age.

Oaxaca Contemporary Art Museum (Maco)
It should be noted that Francisco Toledo was originally from Oaxacaso his interest in preserving the culture of the State was infinite until his death. The Maco was founded by him and temporary exhibitions are made, so it is normal to find Toledo's pieces in him. This is located in a house in the early 18th century in the historic center of the city of Oaxaca. The starry vault located on the roof of the stairs was his work, as well as some details throughout the enclosure.

Another museum or institute created by Francisco Toledo It is this spectacular enclosure in the vicinity of a building dating from the 17th century. It permanently exhibits the works of José Guadalupe Posada, Rufino Tamayo and Toledo himself. That is, the pieces of three important artists in Mexican culture are shown, but that become undervalued, so concentrating them in that place is a success that only he could achieve.
