The girl from the blanket and the red star

Legend has a girl whose mother had the commission to weave a new blanket for the manger of the Child Jesus of her church. She accepted the distinction conferred by the pastor, began to elaborate it with great enthusiasm, but when he fell seriously ill he could not finish it and left her halfway into the loom.

The worried girl tried to finish her, but only managed to tangle all the threads and the skeins. The next day, at sunset, the procession to the temple of all the locals began and the little hidden behind a great scrub, crying, saw them pass with enormous sadness because their mother was still sick and there was no new shelter for the child. Suddenly a kind old woman approached him and asked what was happening to him.

The girl told her all her grief and the good woman comforted her telling her that she no longer worried because her mother had already healed and that she rushed to cut the branches of a plant and took them as gift to the Holy Child.

Obladada, the little girl did not give credit to what she heard, but docilly obeyed the lady and with a bunch of those branches she ran to the temple. He placed with great care the rods around the manger, while people silently watched her.

Suddenly everything enlightened and from each branch a huge red star had emerged that warmed everything around him. The girl smiled because surely the divine boy would no longer go colder.

Full of jubilee ran and saw that all the bushes of the street and the mountains wore radiant stars equal to those in the manger and that their humble present had become the most glowing of all gifts.
