Definition of xlsx (extension, file)

The xlsx is a type of file format and extension used in Microsoft Excel as of its 2007 version. Previously it used the .xls extension.

This format is the main format of Excel and contains the spreadsheets of this program.

An .xlsx file contains spreadsheets that allow you to perform arithmetic operations and functions on data arranged in the form of tables (rows and columns).
