Celebrate your first menstruation in your adult life

Have you considered celebrating the arrival of your first adult menstruation?

You may have surprised this question but today I want to convey that it is never too late to create your own first menstruation ceremony and welcome to the woman’s world, to symbolically enjoy the passage ritual that you surely did not receive at the time of your first moon.

When we give ourselves this ritual from the maturity of adult women, it can become a very healer space for the girl that we all carry inside. Symbolically we offer this place, as women, so that you can heal all the memories of pain, misunderstanding, shame, fear or block that could feel.

For several years I offered a workshop called «Welcome to the first menstruation», and the experience of (re) create among women this celebration was a deep balm. We decorated, we dressed in special clothes, we gave ourselves and wrote the words that we would have liked to hear from women in our environment at that time.

These were mine in one of these rituals:

«Sophia, you are not alone.

You are surrounded by love and support.

Now part of the great circle of women who bleed every month.

Your blood is a gift and a blessing, and nutrition for the earth.

Your vulva is a beautiful and sacred place of your body, to care for and enjoy.

You have the right to tell your truth and tell not.

We trust you and your decisions.

We love you and accept you as you are!

Welcome to the woman’s world. «

Ritualize and celebrate this adult passage rite, becomes a release of many charges that women have associated with the first menstruation.

The rituals we celebrate together with our family, friends or closest community, to honor the important moments of change in our lives, help us express and free the knots that we can be feeling, while giving us strength to embrace the unknown and welcome another newer and nourished space inside us.

Do you dare to gather your tribe and celebrate your first moon?
