Arce seeds are transported in fun fruits in the form of helicopter called Samaras, which have wings designed to transport them at a certain distance from the mother tree. They can be collected and plant, and they usually grow quite well. Most need to stratify first, either by cold stratification or using a lime to wear out the hard exterior shell.
Arces can take up to six months to germinate and can have root rot problems when they are young. Keep young people in a sheltered and semi -name area.
The aphids can bother the harves of all ages and are popular guests of many species of butterflies and moths. Arces are also affected by a series of parasitic fungi. Although they have an ugly appearance, they do not usually cause lasting damage to the tree.
