Whether you are an amateur or a professional in the cultivation of vegetables in your garden, you have certainly experienced one of these situations: yellowing leaves, plants withering or drying up without you knowing the reason.

It was thinking about these problems that the company Yara Fertilizantes decided to gather the large amount of information stored in its database in Yara CheckIT, an application for smartphones and tablets that allows the identification of possible nutritional deficiencies, pests and diseases in plants.

From common diseases to the rarest cases, the app can relate the characteristics of plants with nutrient deficiencies. Users can query photos and use filters to find the problem.

When noticing any abnormality in the plant, just open the application, select the country and, through a series of filters of symptoms, causes and location of the problem, find among the available images the one that resembles the situation in your plant.

Once the cause of the deficiency is found, the user will find a sheet with details of the symptoms of that disease, the possible causes and how to reverse the situation. The application also shows alternative nutrition suggestions so that the user can treat the causes and not just the symptoms, information about the type of soil needed for planting and which nutrients are ideal for a particular plant to grow strong and healthy.

The application has a Portuguese version and is free. Just download it on a cell phone or tablet to access the complete database.
