This space, located on Dr. Atl Street, has become A kind of shelter that rescues almost all the details of the work of one of the most interesting contemporary creators. But not only that, but it is also a way in which new generations can approach Siza's ideas.

Who was Álvaro Siza?

Born in Matosinhos, Portugal, Álvaro Siza studied architecture at the Higher School of Fine Arts in Porto, despite his dream was to become a sculptor. His father prompted him to know other countries, especially those who were somewhat close to Portugal, such as Spain or Italy. Not only did it grew around Antonio Gaudí's work but also the Roman monuments consolidated as one of their most entrenched sources of inspiration.

But its fame does not lie, at least not only, in buildings and designed spaces. Álvaro Siza is the author of a text entitled Live a house, in which he mentions, in his own words, how complicated it is to acquire and maintain a house. With this, the architect seeks to problematize what implies, in fact, to live in a given space. According to Siza, the youngest of complications is to buy a home, the truly complicated comes later, with its maintenance.
