Need between the Vistula River and the plateau through which the city extends, it is a student neighborhood worthy of that name, which houses parks, coffees, concert halls, theaters and museums and, in summer, a chain of bars next to the river. He small apartment It is located in a 1937 building, the first residential skyscraper of the city, today considered one of the jewels of the Modernist architecture of the Polish capital. The owners are a young couple of workers, one of whom works at the Warsaw Financial Center, at a very short distance. The initial distribution of this 60 m² department, consists of a long corridor, with independent tickets to the kitchen and each of the two rooms. «The distribution was terrible and was in a deplorable state. We redesign the distribution, which allowed us to optimize the space to create a large living room, bedroom and a wide storage space,» explains Natalia Malerska, interior designer and founder of the La Folie Studio agency.
Redesign space
The biggest challenge of this great restructuring consisted of suppressing or displacing walls and partitions to eliminate the 'tram' effect that had the distribution and make the most of the corridor space, which was previously badly equipped. At the entrance of small apartmentafter a small lobby, the kitchen replaces the hall, opening directly to the living room and letting out all the possible light. A large double -glazing door leads to the bedroom, letting the light circulate and visually expanding the space, whether it is open and closed, dramatizing and giving rhythm to the space between exterior and interior openings.
