Transcendental meditation (TM) is a form of meditation based on the repetition of a mantra. A mantra is a word, syllable, or short phrase that you repeat, either out loud, whispered, or in your head. Mantras are the element that supports your concentration and mental focus, as could conscious breathing.
Sometimes, we know very popular and widespread mantras such as the famous “om” or the famous “shanti”. However, A mantra does not necessarily have to be in Sanskrit. You could use words like “love” or “calm” and positive affirmations like “I am a healthy person.”
We must choose a word or expression that is relevant to us and make it the mantra of meditation.
Repeating a mantra leaves a very pleasant effect on the mind and the body that will stay with you throughout the day, allowing you to live with more focus and mental clarity. The first time, it may seem a little strange to repeat the same word so many times, however, you will quickly recognize how pleasant it can be.
Transcendental meditation has been taught for more than fifty years and was founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a Hindu guru who is a faithful defender of the mantra to lead the mind into a deep state of rest. Today more than five million people practice it and Many celebrities, such as actress Cameron Diaz, have spoken publicly about the benefits of transcendental meditation.
With this voice-guided transcendental meditation you can also obtain all its benefits:
Like any type of meditation, TM offers us the possibility of transcending thought and going inside our being with the aim of reaching a state of calm and mental freedom.
In other types of meditation we focus especially on breathing or visualization, here we seek to concentrate all our focus on the chosen mantra. For this reason, it can be so appealing to experience transcendental meditation, because it is a different method from others that are already better known. Anyway, It is necessary to maintain conscious and slow breathing throughout the exercise.

transcendental meditation It must last twenty minutes and it is recommended to practice it twice a day.
Next, you have to choose the mantra, which can be a word or expression that is important to you and, above all, has meaning. To practice your first transcendental meditation I have chosen the word “health”, so it will be the mantra that we will repeat for twenty minutes.
- When you have gotten the hang of TM you can practice it without guided meditation and then you can choose the mantra or expression you want.
- You can do this meditation at any time of the day. But remember that It is recommended to practice it twice a day, It could be when you wake up and when you go to bed.
- Better do this meditation sitting in a chair with your back straight, but without tension. This way you are sure not to fall asleep and you will continue to be comfortable.
- If you feel like it, You may find it rewarding to do meditation with headphones. You will feel the sound more immersive and you will be able to isolate yourself better from the outside.
- If during meditation you need to move, go ahead. If you are uncomfortable, please return to a more comfortable position with gentle movements.
- If you can, download the entire meditation and then put your device in airplane mode.
- Put some essential oil in the diffuser or some incense. For concentration and to feel calm and peaceful, I recommend, for example, lemon or patchouli, which are aromas closely linked to transcendence.
