The booty center was devised by banker Emilio Botínwho wanted a work of the Italian architect in his hometown. Thus, it was like Piano and Luis Vidal + Architects, projected a floating building on the dockto unite the city and the gardens of Pereda with the sea.
The futuristic structure has two united volumes, of which the West Building is dedicated to art, while the East Building is intended for culture and education. They highlight the terrace and the ground floor, from where the changing sea light is reflected.
This way, Renzo Piano became the architect of Luz, While the Botín center became a lighthouse that leads to Santander towards a new dimension.
