This tradition began in the year 2000naming al Pantone of the year to Cerúleo Blue. In the years they followed tones such as Rosa Fuchsia (2001), True Red (2002), Aqua Sky (2003), Tigerly (2004), Blue Turquoise (2005), Emerald (2013), Radiant Orchid (2014), and Rose Cuartz and El Serenity in 2016, year in which two colors were chosen.
This selection is made by 40 experts from all over the worldamong which are Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute; Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute and David Shah, recognized color consultant; inter alia.
The process consists of an arduous research and observation of the world of art, design, social movements, political issues and events of great impact.
Once the color is chosen, a name for the tone must be selected. This task requires another process of inquiry and creativity in order to arouse the interest and inspiration of who sees it, and thus get it functional.
