Architecture and interior design: Germán Velasco Architects
An abandoned house of the late nineteenth century now houses The prison house bon, a Mexican kitchen restaurant located in Culiacán, Sinaloa. Remodeled by the architect Germán Velasco, The work merges the old with the new in a harmonic coexistence. To maintain, some apparent walls and ceilings were left, restoring only the necessary parts; They even left some plants that had already taken over some walls. The rest of the details demonstrate the contemporary vision of the office, who created welcoming environments.
The establishment has tables inside and outside, where an internal patio surrounded by arches stands out. In this area, a retractable glass cover was installed that allows to take advantage of natural light and isolate the space according to climatic conditions. To unite the different areas, a black and white chess style floor was sought, inspired by the original home tiles. The modern touch was provided by the furniture in varied tones and tables in different woods, which give each corner of the gastronomic establishment. To finish the design, shocking photographs and dynamic lamps were selected that give a fresh image to the place.
