The kick

In 2005, a hillside located in collum, Chile, attracted the looks of the world. In it, Sofia and Mauricio gave life to Casa Poli, a work that they built in their veins, «With all the naivety and arrogance that this supposes,» says Sofia. They worked with a small group of local carpenters and created a space designed to fulfill a double function: serve as a rest house and cultural center.

«When we thought we had the ambition to make a radical projectnot in the sense of being extravagant or rupturist but in the sense of going to the roots, to the origin of a purely architectural thought. Being a relatively small work, and of material resources certainly modest, It was proposed as an inquiry about the basic form of spaceof its structural relationships, of the character of its elements within a unit system, ”explains Mauricio.
