As always happens, one of the biggest challenges was to square all the needs of the client in 40 square meters. The solution was ingenious: to create a single compartmentalized space, where the separations between rooms were mere furniture. This approach allowed a sense of breadth without sacrificing functionality. The choice of materials also played a crucial role. «The green hydraulic tile makes a wink to the corrala, which has the wooden structure and windows green,» says Antequera. In contrast, the yellow of the central structure provides a vibrant touch that stands out on the most traditional background.

The central element of the design is the omnipresent yellow wood box that functions as a screen, separating the kitchen, the living room and the room without completely closing the spaces. This furniture is not only functional but also aesthetically effective, creating a focal point in the small apartment. «The contrast between the original wood structure and the objects of color and glass deposited in the space enable the habitability of the department,» adds Antequera.

«That inhabiting a small house was not synonymous with living in small stays,» explains Antonio Antequera, at the head of Estarradio, about the fluidity between the different spaces.
