It occurs more and more often that, once the reform works are over, A small study You can become the protagonist as much as the buildings that house it. This is the case of the Department-Study of Benedetta Pomini, co-founder of Spazio Meta together with Margherita Crespi and Martina Bragadin, in which the interior distribution designed taking advantage of the heights of the roofs attracts attention as much as the outer facade of the building: a house that in the eyes of the lovers of the architecture, without a doubt, it cannot go unnoticed. Known as «CA 'of FACC» (Casa de las Facesin Milanés dialect), the building, designed by Giuseppe Buzzi, owes its name to the dozens and dozens of altorrelieves representing the faces of Italian illustrious on their facade. Leonardo, Foscolo, Manzoni, D'Azeglio, Appiani, Carlo Porta and Paganini are just some of the protagonists of the 51 medallions on the windows of the building. Inside, we explore the small study Designed by the architects and designers of Sam-Architect, Giuseppe Damonte and Umberto Pomini, which was created by converting a warehouse on the ground floor of this historic building.

How to give freshness to the interior of a small study
Once the inner courtyard and the entrance door, the small study of 40 m2 – an old completely naked warehouse – now stands out for its spectacular dual -height vaulted roof and its two large windows that flood the interior of natural light. «We took advantage of this height to create a large meter under which all the service stays were hidden: kitchen, laundry, bathroom and warehouse,» explains the architect and designer Umberto Pumini (in addition to brother of the founding client of Spazio Meta). «In order not to retake the environment, we also use simple materials, such as hand -spatulated cement (on the ground floor), natural oak (for the staircase and the member), MDF transparent painted (for the kitchen and bathroom countertop) and, finally, brushed steel (for the kitchen countertop).» In summary, the idea of the project was to «give the environment a feeling of freshness and breath», which clearly achieved.
