The Smritivan Earthquake Memorial Museum was built to commemorate the 2001 Gujarat earthquake. Located in a Bhuj hill, near the epicenter, the impressive structure, the work of the architects of Vasu Shilpa Consultants, is the central point of the largest commemorative monument of India. Although its history is based on one of the most devastating natural catastrophes in the country -perhaps for this same reason -the building, which extends about 50 meters in the middle of the world's largest Miyakawi forest, seems to be in perfect harmony with its surroundings. The flat form of the complex, whose individual galleries revolve around a striking central section in the form of a backbone, adapts perfectly to the contours of the hill. Thanks to its modular design, the building can be easily expanded in the future. Another special characteristic is the gardens planted in the flat roofs of the galleries, each of which is planted with different species of native plants and thus changes in synchrony with the surrounding landscape as the stations change.
Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation (USA)
The Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation opened its doors in May 2023 as an extension of the American Museum of National History of New York, founded in 1869. The new building was designed by Jeanne Gang, internationally known for its sustainable design techniques and its innovative urban buildings, such as the Chicago Aqua Tower. The curve form of the building lacks straight angles and straight lines, so it reminds of natural formations, executed in concrete seen. The centerpiece of the building is the Griffin Exploration atrium, a projected concrete room that looks like a natural cave thanks to its curves and connects the different rooms of the building with bridges of organic shapes. The rooms not only serve as a gallery, but also connection point between the different parts of the museum complex.

The Kronplatz summit plateau, on the edge of the Italian Alps, offers an exceptional view of the Dolomitas, the Puster Valley and the Zillartal Alps. Right here, about 2,275 meters of altitude, nature and modern architecture join in the Messner Mountain Museum «Coronos». The building is not only visually melted, but literally with its surroundings, since much of the construction is located in the rock of the mountain. However, Zaha Hadid's architectural masterpiece, the first woman to win the Pritzker award, cannot go unnoticed thanks to her gigantic windows. The concrete frames of the windows stand out strikingly from the rocky wall and work partly as a viewpoints on the mountain landscape. As part of the Messner Mountain Museum Group, which also includes five other museums in the Tyroles Alps, the «crowns» is dedicated to climbing with permanent exposure. An ode to mountaineering and an example of exceptional architecture.
