The Ermita del Rosario Church It was built with Spanish architecture between 1523 and 1524 by the Franciscans. It is dedicated to the Virgen del Rosario and hence the name. It was raised on the outskirts of the Spanish neighborhood with the arrival of twelve Franciscan missionaries led by Fray Martin de Valencia, and settled as the first chapel of New Spain. It represents one of the places where the first evangelizing practices of the orders of the 16th century were carried out, according to the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

Immaculate Conception Church

The Church of the Immaculate Conception, known as «La Conchita», It is one of the oldest churches in Mexico. Some say that it was even the first church in the country, since it was built on the orders of Hernán Cortés on a Toltec altar. After Tenochtitlán, Hernán Cortés settled in Coyoacán, according to INAH, so the construction began in 1541 and ended in 1641.
Subsequently, he underwent several changes after his rebuilding in the 18th century, as well as restoration work between 2012 and 2014. In 2020, INAH found remains of pre -Hispanic constructions during excavations made in the temple, thus reinforcing the story that is said of this building.
