L 76, Red Fin Tiger Pleco, belong to the Parancistrus. They come from the Rio Para in Brazil. The animals are about 16 centimeters long.

Suitable water values:

  • Temperature: 22 – 25° C
  • pH value: approx. 7

Males have many small spines all over the body, but especially on the caudal peduncle and the hard rays of the caudal fin.

You can feel the spines when you hold a male in your hand.

The quilling of the males changes. At times, a male may have scarcely any spines.

A few weeks later, the same male can be quite heavily and conspicuously spined.

The females have no spines but only barely developed skin teeth.
