Contemplator – Mythological and Fantastic Beings

The contemplator is a monstrous and evil being of exceptional intelligence, very aggressive and greedy.

It is known as «the tyrant eye», since it is a globular body with a giant eye, more or less spherical, and with about 10 long stalks. Its body is covered in chitin, which gives it great hardness and acts almost like armor. The stalks also have eyes and are located at the top of the sphere. It also has a huge mouth with sharp teeth.

The central eye can cast an anti-magic beam that allows it to block any type of magic within its field of vision. The other eyes have different functions; one can cast a spell, another cause sleep, transform to stone, move objects with telekinesis, cast a blaster ray, slow the opponent, and cast the «death ray.»

If you lose a stalk in combat, it only takes a week for it to grow back. These stray pendulums are very useful for magic levitation potions.

Contemplators can levitate and float at will. This agility in their movements allows them to easily dodge other attacks and this, together with the magic of their eyes, makes them very powerful beings.

There is a variety of contemplator that lives in the deep sea, and that differs from the previous one in that it has claws similar to those of a crab. In addition, it has two extra eyes that allow it to create illusions to deceive its victims.
