A session can be started voluntarily when entering an online service or an operating system, by typing the user name and password.

But also the login can be automatic in two ways:
* The user specified that both the username and password be saved, so that login is automatic.
* The login is «anonymous», for example, with the automatic creation of a cookie each time a certain website is entered.
