• 1 • The login is the name given at the time of authentication when entering a service or system.

At the moment the login starts, the user enters a session, for which a username and password are usually used. Currently the login procedure can also be through the reading of fingerprints (with a fingerprint reader), morphological identification of the face (using a camera), by scanning the iris of the eye, among other ways.

For example, when an internet forum asks for «login», it is because it is asking for the username and password that was chosen when the user registered in said internet forum.

Login is usually used as a verb and conjugated when Spanish, for example: «loguearse». In English the action of «logging in» is «logging in».

A more appropriate term for «login» would be «Login» or «Authenticate» or «Authenticate».

The opposite action is to log out or log out.
