The purchase in second -hand stores of spell components and other witchcraft articles provides a historical sense to your practice.
It also reduces consumption production, reduces its carbon footprint and maintains unnecessary waste outside the landfills, all of them own principles of a land -based practice.
(SIP, I justify your shopping trip with a little moral height. Nothing 🙂.
I have gathered 9 common articles of second -hand stores easily adaptable to a witchcraft practice.
Happy hunting!

Apothecary jars
If you practice herbalist or use herbs in the elaboration of spells, you know that there are not too many glass jars.
Second -hand store shelves are full of beautiful glass jars.
(Sometimes, even an authentic glass is thrown with the glassware. To check it, gently hit the glass with the heart and thumb. The glass sounds like a bell when vibrates, while the glass emits a deaf and flat sound).
Be extremely selective. In particular, look for hermetic closures on well -adjusted tapas or corks in the bottles covered with cork. Check if there are cracks or other imperfections that compromise the quality of conservation.
Look for elegant lines, engravings or striking colors.
CALDEROS (also known as cast iron pots)
They never buy second -hand items that wear easily, because when they reach your hands they don’t have much life.
But a solid and good quality cast iron pot is a relic.
They also do perfect CALDEROS.
In a way, they usually work better than the cauldrons that are sold in the stores specialized in occultism because the kitchen utensils are, by definition, suitable for food.
Take one and prove one of the many forms of use a cauldron in your craft.
Books
When you look for second -hand stores in your town, do not forget the bookstores of used books.
While a book of occultism is a really weird finding in a general second -hand store, antiquaries are something else.
It creates it or not, many second -hand libraries maintain a section of occultism. These books usually conserve their value well, so professional book buyers do not usually miss good occult titles.
Some even have used tarot decks. (Make sure all the letters are, I have already made that frustrating mistake once).
Although they do not have a specific section for occult topics, it is almost certain that they have used books on topics of peripheral interest for witches.
Try to ask about apothecary, holistic health, identification of precious stones or mythology.
Ritual jewelry
If you want to incorporate ritual jewelry in your consultation, approach the brilliant things of your local antique or second -hand store and let them dazzle.
Do you feel a strong connection with something in particular? It may be the piece I was looking for.
Or was he looking for you? 🙂
Be careful to correctly identify the most expensive pieces. Most consignment counters try to value things fair and honestly, but even professional appraisers make mistakes.
Calices
Here is a little secret. You will love this.
People usually buy calices silver to use in nuptial ceremonies.
Once finished, nobody knows what to do with that stupid silver cup.
It cannot be used for company. There are usually only one or two in a ceremonial game.
And in addition, they are almost awkwardly formal. They seem strangely inappropriate for any other occasion other than the wedding for which they were designed.
Unless, of course, you are a witch 🙂 then there are all kinds of ways to use a chalice.
Almost always When I look, I find at least one or two beautiful calices in the silver section of any second -hand store. In addition, they tend to get older with a beautiful slolish that gives them that old world air.
Professional advice: carefully check that the chalice does not have recorded initials. It may not bother you, but for me it is a decisive factor.
Altar tables
If you want to keep an altar, but you lack a solid surface to mount it, check out the second -hand store.
Find a simple drop -down table for apartment with limited space.
Or decá
In general, the long and narrow tables that people put in their entrances and corridors work really Good.
Then, enter Pinterest and look at all incredible ways to recycle second -hand furniture.
Pick it. Change the drawers of the drawers for the old ones. Or faint it completely and redishe it.
It is very fun and you can print your personal energy.
Builds for offerings
Like the calices, in reality prefer second -hand that offer dishes to the new ones. I like its historical quality.
Find Natural Wood or Hand Ceramic Basins.
The pieces that cost more than $ 100 retail are sold for less than $ 5.
The chopped ceramics with a little wear are also very pretty. The more beaten, the better.
Supplies for kitchen witches
In second -hand stores, many standard kitchen items are sold almost for nothing.
People usually use special items such as the mortar/pestle a few times and then never again. In theory they are fine. But for a practical cook that prepares a fast food during the week, they never work with the same ease or speed as a kitchen robot.
So they go to the second -hand store.
But for the witch of the cuisine, older and traditional tools slow down the process, forcing the practitioner to fully experience the kitchen spell consciously.
Look for natural materials, such as solid wood cutting tables, handmade specifies or ceramic sources.
Some final tips
-They only choose pieces with which you feel really connected. Otherwise, your ritual space will be filled with unnecessary objects.
-He have a list and give it to her. You will surely know from experience what you need. Get that and leave everything else.
-Bhost people like to do some kind of energy cleaning for used objects that intend to incorporate into the ritual. This can be as simple as leaving it in the moonlight, or much more elaborate.
-Cality, quality, quality. That is your mantra. Second -hand stores are so full of things, that you can’t afford No be demanding. Do not satisfy anything that is not beautiful, useful and lasting.
Blessed is.

Yes, you can even paint animals figures of a solid color to combine with the decoration of your altar. And you can buy them for less than $ 1.

Beautiful post 🙂.
I love collecting glassware pieces of molded colors. I use a beautiful blue dessert plate with foot for my chalice, a smaller blue dish for water and a small green plate with salt edge. They have a beautiful appearance and drinking the chalice is very special.

I love these ideas, but I would like second -hand stores near me to have articles like that 🙁 I have never seen, for example, silver calices, cast iron cauldrons or mortars in them, and I frequent second -hand stores *much *….

Test in second -hand stores from different neighborhoods. That is what I do when I want to find something different from the «usual» in my usual second -hand stores. I go to those who are 30 or 40 kilometers where I live.
