Industrial and Interiorist Designer

In addition to the design of products and interiors, Laura Noriega assumes various research projects that have to do with the relationship between Mexican artisanal work and the vision of contemporary industrial design. Hence the birth of its tribute brand, with which it designs “timeless and honest” objects, as an response to unintentable practices and overproduction. «It is an offering to the dynamic exchange processes between creative human activities,» said the designer. «By emphasizing the dialogue process that arises from the displacements, we generate traces that translate into objects.»

Melissa Aldrete

Ceramist

Melissa Aldrete co -founded the Popdots ceramic study, along with Luis Cárdenas, in London. Upon their return to Mexico, they incorporated the knowledge of local artisans into their vision of experimentation and play, and that synergy ended up shapeing the project. The imperfection, the reflections behind the creative process and the relationship with other materials are part of the study collections. «It moves me a lot to try to communicate with different materials or low multidisciplinary media,» warned the designer. Even so, about ceramics, he has assured that «his infinite capabilities have allowed me to express feelings, share private and vulnerable things, which have no absolute form, are abstractions of our feeling.»

Caricaturists

They are the artistic names of the cartoonists José Ignacio Solórzano Pérez and José Trinidad Camacho Orozco, respectively. They met at the Technological and Higher Studies Institute of the West of Guadalajara. In the 1990s, together with other artists, they created graphic publications such as «gallimatisms» and «the mother of the abulon.» As a duo, Jis and Tino are cooked by the mythical «El Santos», as well as other pieces: «The endless chora» and «monitor issues.» Currently, they conduct a podcast full of humor and «high content of psychotropic ingredients and much wisdom.»

Francisco Ruano

Rebelde, perfectionist and, in his words, «a permanent nonconformist», chef Francisco Ruano assimilated the flavors of the traditional cuisine of his native Jalisco to later incorporate in his proposal his experience as a cook aboard a cruise through Alaska and the Caribbean.
