Cans look amazing as vases, especially if you like that rustic look of country house. Plus, it doesn’t take much to give your project a special touch.

Food tins are the best to turn into planters, as they have an inner lining to keep them from rusting. However, if they are not painted or varnished out and left in the open air, they will soon deteriorate.
If the pots are for a garden where you don’t have much control over the amount of water you water, it is recommended make drainage holes in the bottom.
It’s good too add a layer of pebbles in the background pots to help drain the water. There is plenty of room for this layer as cans are usually deep.
