Many barbel and tetra species can be socialized with each other without any problems. In specific cases, it must be noted that barbels are generally curious and lively and like to tug at everything, including the caudal fins of other fish.
The water values required in each case must have a common area.
This is the case for many tetras and barbels, although tetras generally prefer softer water and barbel somewhat harder water in relation to this.
There is usually an area where both tetras and barbel can be kept well.
For example, Sumatran barbs can be kept together with lemon tetras, cherry spotted tetras, blood tetras or copper tetras.
