Breed characteristics and external appearance
The Maltipoo is considered hybrid dog. He has characteristics of the Poodle and the Maltese. This breed is considered allergy friendlybecause the dogs don’t shed a lot.
The size of the Maltipoo can vary. It varies because either Toy, Miniature, or Miniature Poodles were mated to the Maltese.
Coat color also depends on the side of the poodle used, with many colors allowed, even bicolor.
essence and character
The Maltipoo is described as cheerful, very curious and open-minded. This breed is suitable as a beginner dog, despite this, a basic education should be considered. The Maltipoo is very loyal, confident and reliable.
Even if the dogs can be kept in a smaller apartment due to their small body size, they should be given daily exercise. Even in bad weather, these dogs need sufficient exercise and activity.
Origin and history of the breed
This hybrid dog has been bred in the USA since the 1980s.
The reason for this was that a dog should be created that is suitable for allergy sufferers. The idea was the good ones to combine characteristics of both breeds.
The Maltipoo is almost always bred from a Poodle and a Maltese. Breeding Maltipoos among themselves is usually refused. This breed has also been recognized in the USA since 1995.

Nutrition
There are no special requirements for feeding the Maltipoo. In principle, this breed can be fed like any other breed.
It should be paid attention to high-quality feed. Wet and dry food are suitable.
Care
Since both breeds from which the Maltipoo originated have demanding coats which should be cared for accordingly, this is also the case with the Maltipoo. The coat is very dense and can be quite curly.
Regular brushing, preferably daily, with a suitable brush is therefore a must. The coat should be trimmed regularly.
Occasional bathing can also be appropriate for the Maltipoo. Although the Maltipoo does not shed profusely, their fur tends to become matted easily.
If grooming is not done thoroughly, it can lead to skin problems in the dog.
The fur around the eyes and ears should be trimmed regularly. Eyes and ears should also be checked for discharge.

Health and race-related diseases
Because the Maltipoo is a hybrid dog, it’s possible that breed-specific medical conditions can affect the Maltipoo as well.
In principle, however, the Maltipoo is considered to be very robust, as it is not susceptible to hereditary diseases.
