causes
Cloudy eyes often result from excessive mucus secretion when the skin is irritated by parasites or poor water conditions. Cloudy eyes can also result from injuries or fluid in the eye. Fluid in the eye is often the result of bacterial infections.
If the cloudiness occurs inside the eye, parasites or deficiency symptoms are usually the cause.
Cloudiness on the outside of the eye is mostly caused by abrasions or so-called skin clouding. If only one eye is affected, an abrasion or injury is usually the cause.
Hazy eyes often occur together with poppy eyes.
treatment suggestions
The treatment consists of vitamin-rich food, many water changes and as much rest as possible for the infested fish.
Additional treatment steps can only be carried out once the cause has been clearly identified. In the case of infestation with parasites, treatment is the same as for skin opacities. If there is fluid in the eye or pop eyes, treatment against bacterial infections is indicated.
