Origin

The home of the albino armored catfish is Central and South America. There it can be found in the easy-flowing waters of Uruguay, Brazil and Argentina. In the aquarium the fish is very usefulas it also devours leftover food on the ground and in cracks.

Look

The species belongs to the family Corydoradinae (armored catfish) and to the order Siluriformes (catfish). It arose because of a mutation, which suppresses the formation of color pigments. Due to this genetic peculiarity, Corydoras paleatus albino seems to be more sensitive and susceptible to disease than «normal» colored armored catfish.
