▷ 350 liter aquarium | Guide and stocking examples

A 350 liter aquarium belongs to the large tanks. Of course, almost all ornamental fish will find enough space to swim here. Nevertheless, there are a few things to consider when socializing animals.

Not every species of fish gets along with each other and the tank should not be too crowded. In addition, an aquarium with a volume of 350 liters can of course also be equipped with many beautiful decorations such as large plants and roots. Overall, a large tank is even easier to keep and maintain than a small one. The water quality is easier to maintain, in small pools the water tends to tip over.

In general, in addition to the small fish species, the following fish also come into question:

  • discus fish
  • scalars
  • L catfish
  • cichlids
  • and many more

So that you know which fish species harmonize well with each other and how many of a species you can put in your 350 liter tank, there is now three crew examples.

Crew example 1 South American tank with discus fish:

The discus fish are predators and sometimes eat small fish. That’s why you should only put adult perus tetras (or other tetra species) in the tank with the discus fish. If this is too delicate for you, you can also add six to eight dwarf cichlids and do without the tetras.

The yellow dwarf cichlids prefer dense planting and fine gravel or sand for digging. Those who prefer to do without the discus fish can put 3 pairs of yellow dwarf cichlids in the tank and add 30 tetras and 10 plecos. This makes the tank calmer than with the discus fish.

The king tiger loricariids may have a proud price, but they also look great. They are not very shy, but they each need their own cave as a retreat. Floating plants are good for them.

crew example 2 South American basin with angelfish:

Angelfish look particularly beautiful in the aquarium. They like tall plants and roots in the tank. Very small fish are eaten by the angelfish. The cockatoo dwarf cichlid is one of the more peaceful perch species. They get along well with other fish. They require very fine gravel or sand, as do armored catfish.

Crew Example 3 community tank:

The butterfly cichlids are peaceful perch but should be kept in pairs. The leopard danios love to swim and therefore need a lot of space in the middle of the tank. The catfish need caves to hide in and wooden roots in the tank. They gnaw at that. In addition, Welzfutter tablets with wood content are also useful. Since they like to dig through the gravel, it is also advisable to choose a very fine or sandy substrate.
