The guppy is a very popular fish for aquarium beginners. He has few demands and multiplies quickly. It is important to ensure that there are twice as many females as males in the tank. Guppies can be socialized with many different fish.

The phantom tetra likes to live in swarms. He should be kept with at least 10 conspecifics. This type of fish is also easy to keep and perfect for beginners. He prefers a densely planted tank with floating plants that darken the tank.

Metal armored catfish should never be kept alone. But they can also be socialized with other armored catfish. They like to dig on the ground and need very fine gravel or sand for this.

The dwarf bluefish serves as an eye-catcher in the aquarium. While the females look rather plain, the males radiate bold colors.

Perch need live food in the tank.

Dwarf gouramis prefer a heavily planted tank and a high temperature.

They rise to the surface of the water to breathe. Dwarf gourami should not be socialized with barbel, as they sometimes nibble on their threads.

Since the five-belted barbel is a swordfish, it should be kept in a group of at least eight animals. They like very fine gravel or sand as they spend most of their time digging. They live in the lower part of the pool and are rather quiet fellows.

The black-striped clown loach is a small species of loach. It is more active at dusk or at night. During the day she likes to hide. It can be well socialized with other peaceful fish. When keeping snails, it must be considered that the loach likes to eat them. The best substrate for loaches is sand, as they like to dig into the sand and hide there.
