AD: Fire is, without a doubt, the element that distinguishes Rammstein par excellence. By using it in practically all the concerts of his career, how was the concept of fire renewed at this stage of the band?
FW: The mind behind the fire here is Nikolai Sabottkawhich is also the Tour manager of the band. And indeed, Fire is very important For Rammstein, so he is a very important man for them. Nikolai is obsessed with having the best effects: big, strong, brilliant, unforgettable, but you should also think about the limitations in some countries (there are places where you can make larger, and others where you have to measure). We had many together to implement this element in a surprising way in each country and that it was amazing, hence the towers are, or that the band members interact with the fire while they touch. Everything Nikolai always does to the limit is impressive.
The weight of the stage in the experience of a concert is because it is the beginning of this. Florian Wieder.
AD: What was the most difficult when designing this scenario?
FW: In terms of architecture, the most difficult thing was Engineering behind the structure. First, it was to think that this scenario would be in a Tourmoving everywhere. They are used approximately 120 huge trucks To transport it … and must be dismantled and armed again, several times. It is an extreme logistics task, and the engineering behind it so that everything was practical, was the most complicated, but we had to meet this goal so that it was not an impossible task to take the stage around the world. In fact, I think the design was easy, but making it a reality, adjustable to a Tour World, that was challenging.
And of course, I did not do this alone, it was a teamwork of many people. Wonder Works (A United Kingdom Company dedicated to Touring Stage Engineering), They were key to achieving all this. Something like what Rammstein did in this Tourit is only possible with good teamwork.
