Musician or fan? Djooky consolidates itself in Latin America as the streaming platform

Losses of 8.5 billion dollars in suspended concerts and music releases paved the way for other types of platforms.

Streaming consumption grew exponentially and, in this scenario, Djooky Music Awards, became the ideal channel for musicians to exhibit their work and achieve international reach. This is the first free online music contest where entrants just have to create a profile on, upload their original songs and nominate one of them for the competition.

In accordance with The Competitive Intelligence Unit, streaming is the main route for music consumption in pandemic times. 2020 recorded a growth of ten percent and reached a total of 57.1 million users.

“Djooky Music Awards is our response to the current situation musicians around the world find themselves in during the pandemic. But it is also an attempt to democratize and decentralize the music industry worldwide. We want to create fairer opportunities for musicians who are fighting to break down the power structures that currently exist. At the DMAs, the power is with the people, who decide which song wins their hearts. It is a truly democratic initiative and I hope that artists do not waste time in taking advantage of it”explained Brian Malouf, CEO and founder of Djooky, who has worked with Queen, Madonna and other music greats.

For the spring edition, registration for the Djooky Music Awards will be open until May 22 at 23:59:59 (GMT). Those interested will be able to register a song that will compete each week in the national, continental, and global categories that will be announced live on Djooky’s streaming channels on May 30 at 23:59:59 (GMT).

In addition, HitHunters competitions take place week after week, from 00:00:00 GMT on Monday to 23:59:59 GMT on Sunday.
